UGLY. When do we ever not feel this at least once in our life? That one moment when we feel like we can never satisfy the standards of society. Hence, 2NE1 laments on this but are they really?? Despite the depressive message and words, the melody & beat defies it all together with the rock-inspired music; not to mention the MV. The girls at first seem to hide behind the (super cool) mask, walking along abandoned alleys but as the song progress, all mask are torn off and the girls just rock themselves like its no one's business. Why defy ugliness when you can just embrace it, ironocally, and look cool & rocking just as the girls~! As you may notice, the captures below aren't all perfect and sharp, rather expressive & raw. And that's how I like it. This is my favourite 2NE1 MV by far because 2NE1, rather than depending on extravagant effects/sets, just purely express themselves with a mic in hand and crazy dance/headbanging about. Even the fashion is TOTALLY cool & artsy~ If you ever feel depressed about yourself, just give a listen to UGLY and change that sadness into confidence! Who cares if your UGLY? What matters is you loving what you have and embracing it. Now let's gather all those negative thoughts and rock it away with 2NE1's 'UGLY'. Headphones/speakers, check. Volume, check.
