Finally, after months of battling with SM Ent. in court, Jaejoong struts his way as a solo artist with his first official album, I or for the repackage version, Y. The title track has already made its statement with an almost J-rock feel which is something new to be heard in the "KPOP" scene. Being used to hearing his smooth melodic voice, here in MINE we are given a good shock at hearing his voice in a more raw, expressive way. Ranging from sarcastic slow tones to just pure strong vocals, Jaejoong has indeed proven his capability in trying something new. In fact, I truly feel that the whole album itself is a refreshing burst of emotions. Just to sum up, the lyrics of MINE is about going against the mainstream flow and standing up to your own self, breaking away from the chains of norm. The video itself expresses this very clearly as we see the transformation process of Jaejoong starting at being lost & confused to a dramatic, fierce-like ending. Visual wise: hey, this is Jaejoong we're talking about. Putting one of the most sought-after faces in Japan together with the theme of dark angel is just a fantasy-fan dream come true. I'll just let the collection below do the talking~ If you haven't seen MINE, please check it out below and experience a new side to Jaejoong we have yet to see (even in the KPOP world) :
