What else could be more devastating than having the sound of ambulance sirens welcoming your ears to a song? Dalmatian made a comeback with their new members this time round with an emergency-level MV, "E.R". To those who have not heard of Dalmatian's previous songs, this song is a totally new concept to them in comparison to before which was cute & playful (check out "Round 1"). One of the members state that this is the kind of music they like doing so I assume all this while they've been doing what the trend presents. *sad sigh* Personally, I'm more biased to this kind of melody; emotional than cute. Here's an intro to the members of Dalmatian~ it'll also help you recognise who's who in the MV ^^

Daniel (Main Vocalist) |
Simon (Rapper, Vocalist) |
Inati (Rapper, Leader) |
Jisu (Vocalist) |
Tackling the song first, I'll try to dissect the whole melody/instrumental itself. As mentioned, the opening was done by the sound of sirens blaring out, surprising me at first. Who could see that coming(??).....although literally titled "E.R". Daniel follows in with a plea for help in a desperate/helpless tone (his english felt slightly awkward tho'). The individual parts were sung with tones of regret+sadness, depicting the lyrics quite well. But the chorus pops out with a declaring tone saying he'll be there, waiting no matter what. The high-pitch harmony of the chorus also lends in to the desperate, pleading atmosphere. The small inserts of sirens in certain parts of the song remind listeners the emergency state "HE" is in. If you listen to the instrumental version, you can clearly hear sounds of cars screeching (accidents) & sudden pauses, creating the suspense of it all. Are they dead?? It is the end?? Watch the MV and figure it out yourself~

The MV was produced rather differently & quite well. A solid comeback for them. Not to mention the SUPER eye-candies. *hahahaha* When I first watched the MV, I just gapped at those "scenes". Damn, no wonder they went on hiatus for a loooong time (O__O)!! There's not much of a plot to the MV but if you put all the scenes together, it fits in with the lyrics on a general level. Throughout the mv, the boys are seen lying around, supposedly involved in an accident (would've been much more realistic if the boys were ACTUALLY covered in injuries) & medical staffs running around, collecting their bodies. Here's a scary moment: when the officer was zipping up the corpse bags, each member gets a shot of their faces just before being zipped up BUT when it came to Simon's shot, he OPENED his eyes. DAMN that was creep (+_+)!!!
Moving on, the bodies were then brought to the morgue (corpse room in a hospital but in this case, seemed like a basement). A pretty-hot female doctor comes in to identify them, checking their condition & tags.This goes on for quite a bit. Simon was lucky to get kissed on the forehead by her.....although, who would want to kiss a corpse (*x*). At this point, I kinda understood the possible reason of her being there. She could be the very girl who caused him the pain/death & now she's happily leaving them lying dead (kinda freaky) BUT (this is just me interpretation!!) at the very end of the video, the boys are NOT dead. Wow~ Talk about determination. Then again, this action actually changes the whole meaning to the song. Instead of a pathetic desperate longing, they might just be revenging back on her by waiting endlessly (creating the endless guilty feeling for the girl). Wouldn't you feel bad if he waits for you forever & ever & ever?? Pain fought back with pain. Ooo that's deep~
As for the dance, I was slightly taken back at the mixture of ballet moves in it. I can't exactly describe it (no knowledge on ballet). Till now, I find it hard to appreciate the ballet moves. I dunno, I just feel like its awkward with the song. Yet I give credits to them in trying something new. *thumbs up* The live performances (music bank/inkigayo/etc) does not justify the whole choreography since they have to sing their parts. In order to view the choreography in full, you have to watch the dance practice video of them. When I saw the dance in full, I seriously liked it. The in-sync moves & different coordination were awesome. Check it out below:
In the MV, the production crew had cleverly done a teaser for the girls to watch. What am I talking about?? Observe the change in outfits they wore during the dance scenes. There are exactly 3 changes. I warn you, half this video is worth fan-girling over :D Who knew they would change from full suits to half-dressed?!! I gotta say, their bodies are worth admiring. Not to mention Simon, Inati and Daniel's. Inati is freaking 31 already!! Here's a preview of the 'shocking' change~ :
Everything's hidden ---> Peek-a-boo ------> BAM! |
That' all for "E.R". Hope you'll enjoy the MV (I know I did *wink2*). haha~ Seriously, credits to Dalmatian for this change. I'll be waiting for more similar styles!
PS: here's 2 little eye-candies from the MV ^^ fans of Inati & Simon anyone?~
